Today was a very interesting day in Room 2D... our classroom was transformed into a hospital and we all became Surgeons!  We found all the tools we needed, put on gloves and face masks, and went to work performing surgery on some words that needed our help to become contractions!  We had to cut out the letters we didn't need, and then stitch the words back together again, being sure to add a band aid to cover up the scar we created when cutting with our scalpels.  What a FUN learning experience!  I hope you heard ALL about it... if not, check out the pictures to see just how much FUN we had!

I can NOT believe it's already November!  The Second Nine weeks has gotten off to a BUSY start... we started off the week learning about Election Day and we all cast our ballots for our favorite class snack... popcorn or chips!  We learned a lot about the election process and will be convincing our classmates why we would make good Class Presidents later on this week!

In math we have started Topic 6, Adding two-digit Numbers.  Check out the Topic 6 page for lots of great games to practice these new skills!

This week in reading we will learn all about contractions!  New websites have been added under the Reading tab to help you practice making contractions.
